۱. States shall cooperate to bring to an end through lawful means any serious breach within the meaning of article ۴۰.
۲. No State shall recognize as lawful a situation created by a serious breach within the meaning of article ۴۰, nor render aid or assistance in maintaining that situation.
۳. This article is without prejudice to the other consequences referred to in this part and to such further consequences that a breach to which this chapter applies may entail under international law.
