۱- سازمان تجارت جهانی چارچوب نهادی مشترکی برای هدایت روابط تجاری اعضای خود در خصوص مسائل مربوط به موافقت‌نامه‌ها و اسناد حقوقی پیوست مندرج در ضمائم موافقت‌نامه حاضر، به وجود می‌آورد.
۲- موافقت‌نامه‌ها و اسناد حقوقی پیوست، مندرج در ضمائم۱،۲و۳ (که از این پس به عنوان «موافقت‌نامه‌های تجاری چند جانبه» خوانده می‌شوند) اجزاء لاینفک موافقت‌نامه حاضر بوده و برای تمام اعضا الزام آور هستند.
۳- موافقت‌نامه‌ها و اسناد حقوقی پیوست، مندرج در ضمیمه۴ (که از این پس به عنوان «موافقت‌نامه‌های تجاری میان چند طرف» خوانده می‌شود) در مورد اعضایی که آن‌ها را قبول کرده‌اند، همچنین جزء لاینفک موافقت‌نامه حاضر بوده و برای اعضای مزبور الزام‌آور هستند.
موافقت‌نامه‌های تجاری میان چند طرف، برای اعضایی که آن‌ها را نپذیرفته‌اند، تعهدات یا حقوقی به وجود نمی‌آورند.
۴- موافقت‌نامه عمومی تعرفه و تجارت ۱۹۹۴ آن‌گونه که در ضمیمه ۱(الف) مشخص شده (که از این پس به عنوان «گات ۱۹۹۴» خوانده می‌شود)، از لحاظ حقوقی از موافقت‌نامه موسوم به موافقت‌نامه عمومی تعرفه و تجارت مورخ ۳۰ اکتبر ۱۹۴۷، منضم به سندنهایی تصویب شده در پایان دومین اجلاس کمیته مقدماتی کنفرانس تجارت و اشتغال ملل متحد، به ترتیبی که بعداً اصلاح شده یا تعدیل و تغییر یافته است(که از این پس به عنوان«گات۱۹۴۷» خوانده می‌شود)، متمایز می‌باشد.
۱.The WTO shall provide the common institutional framework for the conduct of trade relations among its Members in matters related to the agreements and associated legal instruments included in the Annexes to this Agreement.
۲.The agreements and associated legal instruments included in Annexes ۱, ۲ and ۳ (hereinafter referred to as "Multilateral Trade Agreements") are integral parts of this Agreement, binding on all Members.
۳.The agreements and associated legal instruments included in Annex ۴ (hereinafter referred to as "Plurilateral Trade Agreements") are also part of this Agreement for those Members that have accepted them, and are binding on those Members. The Plurilateral Trade Agreements do not create either obligations or rights for Members that have not accepted them.
۴.The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade ۱۹۹۴ as specified in Annex ۱A (hereinafter referred to as "GATT ۱۹۹۴") is legally distinct from the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, dated ۳۰ October ۱۹۴۷, annexed to the Final Act Adopted at the Conclusion of the Second Session of the Preparatory Committee of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Employment, as subsequently rectified, amended or modified (hereinafter referred to as "GATT ۱۹۴۷").
